Another 40th Anniversary third jersey concept?

Sabres colors, paired with the vintage script of the AHL Bisons. It seems to align with the description from Icethetics' recent post from Chris' source. I think this is either a concept idea submission or a real deal 'mockup', which trys to make believable given the marketing language that is spliced along with the picture focusing on creating a look that will pair well with existing team merchandise offerings.

I know it's only a one year 40th anniversary special uniform but this or a likeness of it should please a lot of young and old hardcore Sabres fans alike. I certainly am not the biggest script logo fan, but even though they did go along with Minnesota's idea, they made it unique, not baseball looking, classy, and relevant to Buffalo hockey history. If this is close to the real thing, it will be well received.

If indeed that is a screen shot of a Sabres creative designer's monitor, then that is a well executed drive-by with the camera phone. FTW.

If that's legit, I absolutely love it!

I love that design, but...

...there's no way in hell that's the new design. Old-school jersey cut = not the third jersey.

Let us not forget that the Reebok EDGE system rules over the uniform kingdom with an iron fist.

Good eye Phil. The more I looked at this, I was starting to think I had seen it somewhere before.

Guess we'll see soon enough.

Except that third/anniversary jerseys don't have to be on the EDGE jersey. The Flames isn't. Someone else's next year isn't.

Yea, Matt, I think I pointed that out on a forum I visit. If the Sabres CAN pull off a non-EDGE third jersey, I'll flip the eff out, man.

The Pastor family still hold the copyright to that logo... and unless the Sabres are paying a hefty license fee to them I highly doubt this will be the jersey.

Also, the version of Photoshop in the shot is like 3 or 4 versions ago. If this was a legit shot from the Sabres' graphic designer... they would be using at least CS4.

So I think this is complete BUNKO!

The AHL Bisons didn't start wearing the bottle cap logo until 1956-57, the year the Pastors bought the team. In fact the Herd wore no logo until the 1954-55 season or so when the cartoon skating Bison appeared.
